No – really! Cyndi Lauper‘s been very outspoken about the lack of women in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame – with good reason! She recently hosted the new PBS documentary ‘Women Who Rock.’ It’s loaded with classic concert footage, various artist interviews and commentary, and the film pays tribute to the women who “invented rock and roll, shaped it and pushed its boundaries.”
Cyndi’s female influences? Mavis Staples (of the Staples Singers), Ann and Nancy Wilson, Debbie Harry (of Blondie) and Stevie Nicks.
How many of today’s artists has Cyndi influenced? They’re countless! Read more of Cyndi’s interview and her views on Women Who Rock here.
